Sicilia IGT Passomaggio 2012 Abbazia Santa Anastasia
Description
The Rosso Rosso Passomaggio of Abbazia Santa Anastasia comes from vineyards located in the municipality of Castelbuono, in the province of Palermo.
It is mainly produced with Nero d'Avola and Merlot grapes, harvested by hand in late September. Fermentation takes place, with maceration on the skins, in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-28 ° C for 10-13 days. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for about 12 months before being bottled.
The Passomaggio is characterized by an intense and deep ruby red color. The nose opens with elegant hints of cherries, enriched with pleasant spicy notes of tobacco, pepper and vanilla. On the palate it is pleasantly soft, with a persistent finish that slightly recalls the morello cherry.
Perfect to accompany red meats and first courses, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
