Description
The Bordicon 'B' Blend by Idiom is a structured and complex red wine, produced in the Stellenbosch area from a blend of five noble varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. The grapes come from the Da Capo vineyard, located at Sir Lowry's Pass in the Helderberg region, an area characterized by decomposed granite soils, Table Mountain sandstone, and Tukulu, ideal for wines of great expression and longevity.
After six days of cold maceration, the grapes ferment in stainless steel at temperatures between 24 and 28 °C for about a week and a half. After fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barriques, of which 45% are new, to achieve a balanced maturation and integrate the aromatic profile without overpowering it.
On the nose, it opens with intense aromas of ripe black plum, tea leaf, and tobacco, followed by notes of cigar box, pencil shavings, and a distinctive cassis scent. On the palate, it is tight, complex, and of great intensity, with a long and persistent finish, marked by fine tannins and an extraordinary ability to evolve in the bottle.
Perfect when paired with braised meats or strong-flavored aged cheeses.
