Description
The Reserve Chenin Blanc from Bellevue is a South African white wine originating from a certified Heritage vineyard, planted in 1976 and carefully cultivated on a southern slope with sandy-loamy soil. The old bush vines, which have a low yield, are only irrigated when necessary and grow with a strategic north-south orientation, a factor that contributes to the balanced ripening of the grapes and the preservation of aromatic freshness.
The winemaking process involves split fermentation: one-third of the must is fermented in barriques, while the remaining two-thirds ferment in steel. The wine is then kept on fine lees for three to four months, without undergoing malolactic fermentation, preserving the acidity and vivacity typical of the grape variety. Finally, the wine is assembled, stabilized, and filtered before bottling.
On the nose, it offers enticing aromas of pear blossom, foreshadowing a palate rich with stone fruits like peach, nectarine, and apricot. Aromatic yet dry and elegant, it is notable for its intense fruitiness well-balanced by lively freshness and a clean, persistent finish, making it a refined and well-structured white wine.
Perfect with pasta dishes with creamy sauces or delicate curries.
