Description
The Magred is a Chardonnay produced by Nals Margreid, sourced from vineyards located in Magrè, at the foot of a gentle slope between 220 and 350 meters above sea level, with south and southeast exposure. This area of Alto Adige is characterized by a white soil of calcareous gravel rich in humus, which supports balanced and quality growth of the grapes. The Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winds coming from Lake Garda further contributes to the optimal ripening of the grapes.
The Chardonnay grapes are harvested manually and undergo a gentle pressing. The must ferments for about three weeks in wooden barrels. Subsequently, the wine ages on fine lees for about eight months, developing complexity and structure, while maintaining its freshness and aromatic integrity.
In appearance, it shows an intense straw yellow color and a nice compactness. On the nose, it offers great clarity and a rich aromatic range, with notes of pineapple, melon, passion fruit, and a delicate mountain herb. On the palate, it stands out for a fresh and broad taste, accompanied by softness and good persistence.
It pairs perfectly with spaghetti with clams or swordfish tortelli.
