Description

What kind of wine is it

Baron Salvadori by Nals Margreid is a Riserva white from Südtirol - Alto Adige, made from Chardonnay grapes grown in Magrè. The wine ferments in small oak barrels, matures on fine lees, and completes its journey with extended bottle aging, offering a full-bodied and precise style, supported by freshness and a clear mineral imprint.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from the vineyards of Magrè, around the Baron Salvadori estate, situated between 220 and 350 meters above sea level. The soils are composed of calcareous gravel with high humus content and good aeration, together with south and southeast exposures, favoring a consistent ripening of the grapes. The Mediterranean climate, influenced by the warm Ora wind rising from Lake Garda, contributes to creating ideal growing conditions.

How is it made

The harvest is carried out manually. After a soft pressing, the must is left to settle at a low temperature; fermentation takes place in small oak barrels. The wine remains on the fine lees for 12 months and continues with 2 years of bottle aging, steps that help define its complexity and finesse.

Tasting notes

In the glass it appears straw yellow with golden highlights and good density. On the nose, notes of apple, Abate pear, and kiwi emerge, along with aromatic herbs and subtle spiciness. The palate is dense and profound, with a well-balanced acidity backbone and persistent minerality that accompanies a clean finish.

Food pairings

At the table, it pairs naturally with dishes that require texture and liveliness, such as canederli in broth. It also works well with salmon tartare, where its freshness and mineral streak help to keep each sip precise and clean.

When to serve it

Recommended when you want a Riserva white that combines density and precision, suitable for both lunch and dinner. Serve it chilled to bring out its aromatic profile and flavor tension, enhancing the depth of the sip and the mineral finish.
