Description
What kind of wine it is
Riesling Pitzon Nals Margreid is a white wine from the Südtirol - Alto Adige denomination, made from Riesling grapes grown near Nalles, in the Adige Valley. Vinification takes place in stainless steel and maturation on fine lees aims for a crisp and fresh profile. The style remains bold and savory, with a compact structure and recognizable minerality, designed to offer continuity and expressive clarity at the table.
Where it comes from
Born in Nalles, in the Adige Valley, within the Südtirol - Alto Adige area. The vineyards, located between 500 and 750 meters above sea level and with east/south-east exposures, promote regular ripening and aromatic definition. On the right bank of the Adige, the soils rich in porphyry and limestone contribute to the mineral note and a more defined structure. The sub-Mediterranean climate and wide temperature variations between day and night support freshness and taste clarity.
How it's made
The Riesling grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and sent to pressing. The must ferments for about 2–3 weeks in stainless steel tanks, a choice that preserves aromatic purity and technical linearity. After fermentation, the wine matures for about seven months on fine lees: this prolonged contact adds complexity and backbone to the structure, maintaining the typical freshness of the grape variety. The production style remains focused on control and precision.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays a bright, compact, and luminous golden yellow. On the nose, notes of exotic fruit emerge, hints of aromatic herbs, and a delicate mineral trace, all in a very tidy ensemble. On the palate it is bold, fresh, and savory, with a compact structure guiding the wine’s development. The persistence is steady and highlights the varietal character of Riesling, with consistency between the aromatic profile and the finish.
Food pairings
It pairs well with shellfish such as crab and lobster, where the wine’s savoriness matches the sweetness of the meat. It’s also suitable with sushi thanks to its freshness and aromatic precision, which interact well with the marine elements and the balance of the rice. It is recommended for fish dishes with spiced seasonings as well, as the compact structure and mineral note persist alongside the spices, keeping the taste clean and focused.
When to serve
Perfect for occasions when you want a white wine that is fresh, savory, and well-defined, especially at lunch or dinner with fish and shellfish. The fermentation in stainless steel and aging on fine lees ensure aromatic clarity and good palate persistence. The compact structure allows it to accompany even spiced dishes without losing balance, enhancing freshness and persistence in tasting.
