Südtirol - Alto Adige DOC Pinot Nero Riserva 2013 Castel Sallegg
Description
The Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva of Castel Sallegg was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Caldaro, in the province of Bolzano.
It is produced exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for about 2 weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barrels and for 12 months in bottle.
Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva has a bright garnet red color. The nose opens with pleasing fruity aromas of raspberry and cherry, enriched with hints of vanilla and other spices. On the palate it is warm and round, with soft tannins and a long and persistent finish, with hints of tobacco, leather and almond.
This red wine is perfect to accompany red or white meat dishes and aged cheeses.
