Südtirol - Alto Adige Gewürztraminer DOC Spätlese Epokale 2011 Tramin

Epokale is the tribute of the Tramin winery to the South Tyrolean winemaking tradition, that which has always vinified Gewürztraminer with a clearly perceptible sugar residue.

It consists of 100% Gewürztraminer grapes, carefully selected from the oldest vineyards - between the ages of 20 and 30 - and harvested towards the end of October. During the vinification phase, it rests on its fine lees for a period of about 8 months. The actual aging phase is a surprise: the wine is in fact transported to the Monteneve mine, in the Ridanna Valley, where it remains for 7 years.

The golden yellow color connotes the glass with charm, which is expressed on complex notes of lychee, rose, lavender and exotic fruit, against the background of a spicy variegation reminiscent of ginger, cloves and saffron. Pleasantness and depth coexist in the eclectic personality of this intense, aromatic white, softly sugary but also elegantly fresh. An almost unlimited persistence!
