Description

The Chardonnay of the Hughes&Hughes line is produced by Mewstone, a winery located in Tasmania and founded in 2011 by brothers Matthew and Jonathan, the company's oenologist. The grapes come from a single vineyard located along the D'Entrecasteaux canal.

The grapes are vinified in oak barrels (40% new) with spontaneous fermentation. After the malolactic fermentation the wine ages on the fine lees for at least 9 months. The wine is bottled without fining.

Intense golden yellow in colour, the nose reveals rich aromas of tropical fruits, candied citrus fruits and notes of brioche.

It is excellent in combination with molluscs, roasted fish and aged cheeses.
