Description
The Taurasi Riserva Stilèma is an austere and complex wine, featuring an elegant profile and great drinkability, a modern expression of the Taurasi tradition. Produced by Mastroberardino, it is made from pure Aglianico grapes sourced from vineyards located in various prime areas of the production zone, which together impart a refined and well-balanced stylistic imprint. The altitudes and soil peculiarities of Montemarano, Castelfranci, and Paternopoli contribute to outlining a unique character in line with the identity of the Irpinian territory.
The vinification begins with a brief maceration of about a week at a controlled temperature, followed by a fermentation with moderate extraction to preserve the fresh and fruity components. The aging process continues for approximately 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels, completed by further rest in the bottle for a significant period, in order to harmonize and perfect the wine's organoleptic profile.
Visually, it shows a light ruby red color with delicate reflections and luminous transparency. The bouquet is rich and complex, with fruity notes of cherry, plum, and blackberry, accompanied by floral and spicy hints like caramel, tobacco, vanilla, leather, and cloves. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and nimble, with a silky and well-integrated tannic texture that contributes to a balanced structure and an austere yet highly pleasurable sip.
It pairs perfectly with roast duck, platters of aged cold cuts, or herb-crusted lamb.
