Terre Siciliane Nero d'Avola IGT Torre Aretusa 2016 Montemajor

Torre Aretusa was born in Sicily from a pure Nero D'Avola blend, from mainly clayey and calcareous soils, which give the wine a splendid minerality. It is harvested in September, while vinification takes place with cold pre-maceration and controlled temperature maceration. It carries out a malolactic fermentation, therefore the wine ages in steel.

It offers a pure ruby red color with reflections that tend to violet. The scent is elegant, refined and complex, with flavors of berries such as black mulberry, blueberry and black currant. On the palate it confirms the hints of undergrowth, with a background of licorice that celebrates a pleasantly long and persistent finish.

It is a wine particularly suited to nobly accompany roasted and braised meats, as well as aged cheeses and eggplant parmesan. Definitely to be tried with DOP ragusano cheese-based potato pies.
