Description

Termanthia is the highest expression of the best vineyards of the Spanish denomination Toro, i.e. those belonging to the small kingdom of 4.78 hectares of Teso de los Carriles, composed of ancient vines cultivated with shrub that reach up to over 100 years of age, located at a height of 800 meters above sea level.

The undisputed protagonist of this wine is its grape variety, Tinta de Toro, the local way of referring to the Tempranillo variety which expresses itself here distinctly due to the different climatic and terroir conditions. The harvest and subsequent destemming are carried out exclusively by hand with rigorous selection of grapes for grapes. After a traditional pressing, the must ferments between conical tanks and French oak barrels of different sizes, with maceration on the skins for 16 days. The Termanthia then ages in double French oak barrels for 20 months.

Distinguished by a deep and intense purple color, it gives the nose an elegant and sublime complexity bouquet, with a range of scents ranging from fresh raspberries, blackberries and black currants, with unusual nuances of violet, rose petals, but also black pepper and toasted almond. All on a mineral background with notes of truffle typical of the soil that characterizes the entire denomination. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with velvety tannins and a remarkable structure, with concentrated aromas of black and red fruits that gradually become more intense and turn towards a persistent finish of spicy and toasted hints.

Valuable in the company of grilled meats and delicious roasts, it is recommended in combination with a small bar of dark chocolate.
