Description

Calzo della Vignia by Viticoltori Isola del Giglio was born in the Fennel and Gronco vineyards of the beautiful Tuscan island, caressed by the winds that smell of the sea and characterized by loose soils of granite origin. It is a wine that perfectly reflects the originality and passion that underlie this wine project.

It is produced entirely with Ansonica grapes, harvested and selected manually from the two vineyards in early September. In the cellar the grapes are left to ferment and macerate on the skins for about 8 weeks. Afterwards, the wine passes into French wooden barrels where it ages for 6 months. Bottle refinement follows.

Calzo della Vignia has a golden color, slightly veiled due to the lack of filtering. The nose releases a unique olfactory complexity, with notes of white flowers that blend delicately with hints of peach, mango and pineapple. This heady scent remotely recalls the fragrances of French Sauternes or Canadian Ice wines . On the palate it proves a wine of great elegance, with fruity sensations accompanied splendidly by good minerality, characteristic of the belonging terroir.

Perfect in combination with light appetizers and white meats, it also proves to be a perfect companion for fish dishes. Gorgeous meditation wine.
