Description
Il Duemilaventuno di Sergio Manetti is a Tuscan red wine produced by Montevertine to commemorate the centenary of the founder's birth. Produced exclusively in Magnum format by 1.5 liters and limited to 1000 numbered bottles, this wine is a tribute to the tradition and passion that have distinguished the history of the company. The label, created by master Alberto Manfredi, depicts the faces of Sergio and a woman, highlighting the deep connection between art and viticulture.
The Sangiovese, Colorino, and Canaiolo Nero grapes, hand-picked in the historic vineyards of Montevertine Vecchia and Le Pergole Torte, are vinified using traditional methods. The wine ages for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a rest period in bottle to ensure balance and complexity.
It reveals an intense ruby red color to the eye. The nose delivers aromas of ripe red fruits, accompanied by spicy notes. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and persistent, with well-integrated tannins and a structure that promises positive evolution over time. Its estimated longevity exceeds 25 years, making it suitable for long-term aging.
It pairs perfectly with cured meats, grilled meats, flavorful first courses, and aged cheeses.
