Description

Cabraia is a Tuscan-branded red that originates near Suvereto, in the Val di Cornia. It comes from the wise agronomic and enological management of the Gualdo del Re winery, a signature of excellence to the region's viticulture.

Its blend is mainly composed of Cabernet Franc, with an addition of 15% of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards used are located at an altitude of about 100 meters, planted on a sandy clayey soil with abundant stonyness. The wine ages for 18 in barrique and concludes its maturation process with a 12 month bottle stop.

At the sight it presents an intense ruby red with purple reflections. The scent opens with fruity tones of black currant, blackberry, blueberry and a series of spicy nuances reminiscent of cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. In the mouth it is robust, with an important consistency and richness of taste. The tannic texture is dense but silky. It closes in a persistence of red fruit and vanilla.

Perfect with stewed red meat.
