Toscana IGT Eliseo 2015 Gualdo del Re

Eliseo Rosso di Gualdo del Re is a blend that mixes the autochthonous with the international, giving a taste of real Tuscany from Livorno. We are in Suvereto, the municipality where the winery and its vineyards are located, entirely cultivated according to an organic farming method.

Cabernet Franc, 60%, Merlot, 20%, and Cabernet Sauvignon, 20%, define its varietal composition. The vines are located at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, on clayey-sandy soils and stone. Once the malolactic fermentation has ended in steel containers, the wine ages for 18 months in barrique. A 3-month rest in the bottle follows before being marketed.

It presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color. The nose develops notes of plum, berries and blackberry, with the counterpoint of a spice of pepper and vanilla. An excellent structure supports the character made of soft tannins and lively freshness. It persists in the memory of a ripe plum.

Ideal as an accompaniment to a medium-aged cheese platter.
