Description

What kind of wine is it

Rosso Uno by Tenuta di Carleone is a Tuscan red wine made from Sangiovese grapes, produced in the historic area of Radda in Chianti. The style is refined and balanced, distinguished by a vigorous tannic structure and a fruity profile enhanced by evident mineral and spicy notes. It is a structured yet smooth red, designed to highlight precision and expressive clarity from the first sip.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from vineyards located in Radda in Chianti, a Tuscan area with a long tradition of viticulture. The combination of rolling hills and significant temperature variation helps preserve freshness and aromatic definition, while the soils offer a marked mineral component. The wine is produced by Tenuta di Carleone, founded by Karl Egger and oriented towards biodynamic farming principles, with a minimal-intervention, essential winemaking approach.

How is it produced

The wine is made from Sangiovese grapes. After harvesting, fermentation takes place in cement and steel vats, with a skin maceration of sixty days, gradually extracting color and structure. After this phase, the wine matures in a combination of French oak barrels, cement, and steel, integrating micro-oxygenation and maintaining the clarity of the original fruit.

Tasting notes

In the glass, this red presents a deep ruby red color and a compact hue. The nose reveals clear and distinctive aromas of raspberry and pomegranate, complemented by mineral nuances and a gentle spiciness that enrich the overall aromatic profile. On the palate it is elegant and balanced, supported by lively tannins that drive the tasting progression towards a long finish consistent with its aromatic premise.

Pairings

This wine pairs effectively with legume soups and classic home-style dishes, where the structure supports protein elements and the freshness cleanses the palate. It is particularly suitable alongside braised red meats and boards of aged cheeses, thanks to its enveloping tannic texture and persistence. Regionally, it is ideally matched with traditional Tuscan recipes, creating a harmonious pairing with peposo dell’Impruneta.

When to serve it

This wine is perfect for both informal dinners and special occasions, especially when a wine with good depth is desired. It can be enjoyed young for its fruity profile, while its structural solidity enables excellent cellaring. Serving this wine during the cool season or in transitional months enhances its mineral qualities and creates a more harmonious sip.
