Description
What kind of wine
Virtus by Prima Domus is a Tuscan red from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It presents a modern style with a harmonious structure and immediate freshness, in line with the character of the region. Each variety is vinified separately and the wine matures in large oak barrels and medium-toast barriques, processes that shape an elegant and complex profile. The result is a versatile and balanced red, suitable for many occasions.
Where it comes from
It comes from central Tuscany. The sunny exposure and well-distributed winter rains support a regular ripening, giving a wine with a clear territorial personality.
How it is produced
The harvest is done by hand with selection per variety. Each variety is vinified separately: the Sangiovese ages 18 months in large oak barrels, while Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon age 12 months in medium-toast barriques. After blending, the wine rests in bottle, allowing the aromas to integrate and the structure to stabilize.
Tasting notes
It shows a bright ruby red color with violet highlights. On the nose, it offers wild strawberry, pomegranate, and red fruit, with light notes of vanilla and a hint of toast. On the palate it is harmonious and enveloping, with polished tannins and vibrant freshness that makes it very drinkable. The finish is smooth, with pleasant sapidity and a defined fruity return of wild strawberry.
Food pairings
Pairs instantly with grilled red meats, braised dishes, and stewed game. Its structure stands up to Florentine steak and porcini mushroom stews, offering balance without overpowering flavors.
When to serve it
It can be enjoyed young for its freshness or aged a few years in the cellar, allowing it to develop greater aromatic complexity. Recommended for important dinners, convivial evenings, and tastings dedicated to Tuscan reds.
