Toscana IGT 33+3 Vendemmie 2013 Castellare di Castellina

The 33 + 3 Vendemmie is a blend of some of the most representative wines of Castellare di Castellina, I Sodi di San Niccolò, Poggio ai Merli and Coniale, enclosed in a single large wine to celebrate the 36 harvests of the estate.

The Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera grapes are harvested in the second half of October, once the perfect level of ripeness has been reached. Vinification takes place in steel under controlled temperature conditions for 18-25 days. Subsequently the wine ages for 24 months in French oak barrels and for a further 18 months in bottle.

Of intense ruby red color, it expresses a deep and complex bouquet on the nose, with notes of red and black fruits that blend perfectly with hints of vanilla, coffee and chocolate. In the mouth it shows a wine of excellent structure while preserving the elegance and refinement typical of I Sodi di San Niccolò. The finish is velvety, extremely persistent.

Ideal to be served in the company of cold cuts and particularly tasty meats, it goes perfectly with aged cheeses.
