Solid and performing on the nose it shows notes of red plums, orange juice, mandarin peel, lime and chamomile. Medium-full body, decidedly ripe and well extracted fine-grained tannins and a harmonious and balanced finish. Better from 2025.

Description

The Solare red wine is produced by the Capannelle winery, located in the hills around Gaiole in Chianti, a splendid Tuscan village in the province of Siena. The company, whose foundation dates back to the 1970s, now manages 16 hectares of vineyards.

It is produced with 80% Sangiovese grapes and 20% Malvasia Nera grapes, which are vinified in 13-30 hl truncated Slavonian vats. Subsequently the wine is aged for 18 months in French barriques.

Solare wine is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose reveals hints of red fruit, raspberry, morello cherry and dark notes of cocoa and tobacco. The taste is mineral, with silky and elegant tannins.

It is a wine to be paired with game dishes, braised and roasted. Also excellent with aged cheeses.
