Description

Percarlo is a great pure Sangiovese, the son of a wonderful terroir and the desire to produce a label of absolute excellence. The estate is located in San Giusto a Rentennano, in Gaiole, in one of the most suitable areas of Chianti.

The grapes come from a rigorous selection of vineyards cultivated with very low yields, partly on soils composed of sands rich in alberese and galestro, which rest on deep clay banks and partly in plots located on the clayey soils of Corsignano. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, with a long maceration on the skins for over a month. The wine ages in French oak tonneaux for 20-22 months and completes the long aging with 18 months in the cellar.

It is ruby red, intense and elegant, with notes of morello cherry, ripe cherry, nuances of dried flowers, hints of undergrowth, leather and blond tobacco. The sip is complex, harmonious and extends deep towards a very persistent finish.

To be paired with a cut of Chianina or a Florentine steak.
