Description

What kind of wine is it?

Trento Extra Brut Perlè Nero by Ferrari is a Traditional Method sparkling wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from the high hills of Trentino. This wine presents an elegant and creamy style, characterized by a solid structure and a complex aromatic profile combined with a pleasant sapidity. The long period spent on selected yeasts helps define the perfect balance between fruity notes and toasted hints, ensuring a lingering and enveloping finish on the palate.

Where does it come from?

This Trento comes from vineyards located on the high hills of Trentino, surrounding the Villa Margon, Maso Orsi, and Maso Valli estates. The altitude of the vines guides the wine towards a clean and defined aromatic profile and provides the grapes with optimal ripening conditions. This specific geographical origin enhances the varietal characteristics and allows for an ideal base for sparkling wine production, deeply linked to the Trentino terroir.

How is it made?

The grapes are carefully selected and hand-harvested around mid-September before being processed for vinification. The second fermentation follows the Traditional Method, with a slow fermentation in the bottle that defines the soul of the wine. Afterwards, the wine matures on its selected yeasts for at least six years, a crucial phase to develop the aromatic complexity and the typical creamy texture that define the Extra Brut style.

Tasting notes

It displays an elegant golden yellow colour. The nose is rich and mature, expressing a powerful and complex bouquet where fruity notes intertwine harmoniously with distinct mineral hints and pleasant toasted nuances. On the palate, it confirms remarkable complexity and a well-balanced interplay between fruit and toastiness, supported by an intriguing sapidity leading to an enveloping, elegantly creamy, and persistent finish.

Food pairings

The structure and precision of this wine make it an excellent choice to accompany elegant aperitifs. At the table, it pairs perfectly with fish-based dishes and shellfish, where its creaminess and sapidity perfectly balance the delicate textures and natural sweetness of the seafood. It equally shines alongside seafood first courses, enhancing every nuance of flavour with measured elegance.

When to serve it

It is suitable for various moments of the day, from kicking off an evening to a full dinner, thanks to its impressive complexity and perfect balance. Its long maturation makes it ideal for occasions where one wishes to appreciate mature aromas and a fine, creamy taste profile while maintaining a pleasantly dry sip. It is the perfect choice when looking to elevate sea dishes, as it allows the bubbles time to express their natural persistence.
