Valdarno di Sopra DOC Vigna dell'Impero 2013 Tenuta Sette Ponti

The Sette Ponti Estate's Vineyard of the Empire originates from a historic vineyard from 1935, with south-east exposure, located in the heart of the Valdarno di Sopra DOC.

It is the result of only Sangiovese grapes, which remain to macerate softly for about a month in order to enhance the noble components. After fermentation, the wine ages in large barrels for 24 months and for a few more months in the bottle before being placed on the market.

This Sangiovese di Toscana has a bright ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose the olfactory spectrum is complex, characterized by strong hints of leather and tobacco, followed by notes of wild flowers and fresh fruit. The sip is powerful and velvety, with well-integrated tannins that accompany a pleasantly sapid and round finish.

Superb in the company of aged cheeses, it gives its best combined with feathered game.
