Description
The Single Vineyard of the Laura Hartwig winery is produced with 100% Carménère in the Valle de Colchagua in Chile.
With vineyards subject to a climate defined by cold currents from the Andes and the ocean, the Valle de Colchagua is an ideal place to raise vines. This wine is made with the best grapes from the oldest vineyards on the estate. After destemming and soft pressing, the must is macerated first in contact with the skins, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature for 10-12 days and then aging in French oak barrels for 12 months.
In the glass the wine appears of an intense purple red color. On the nose there are hints of red fruit and red pepper, to which are added notes of herbs and nutmeg. The sip reveals well-defined tannins and an excellent balance between the fruity notes and the acid component.
