Description
The Valpolicella Ripasso Valpantena by Bertani is born from vineyards located on the hills of Valpantena, a valley northeast of Verona, in the extended Valpolicella region.
It is mainly produced with Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes. This wine is obtained through a second fermentation, locally known as "ripasso." In January/February, the fresh young vintage Valpolicella is re-fermented on the slightly sugary Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena skins. It then matures in barrels of 30, 54, and 75 hl and subsequently in 100 hl cement tanks.
Bertani's Valpolicella Ripasso presents an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with fruity notes of cherries and undergrowth, enriched by spicy and chocolate sensations. On the palate, the tannins are captivating, and the sip is meaty and savory.
Perfect to accompany first courses, this red wine is ideal paired with grilled meats, roasts, and semi-mature cheeses.
