Description

Costa Bassa is a Valtellina Superiore which originates in the Valgella area - in the municipality of Teglio - by the hand of the Fay family. It is what could be considered the "base wine", that is a business card capable of giving a first taste of that style that makes Fay wines of the great expressions of Nebbiolo Valtellinese.

It consists of 100% Nebbiolo, harvested from the vineyards located in the lower band, suitable for obtaining wines with medium-low acidity and softer tannins. It carries out alcoholic fermentation in steel and malolactic fermentation in large wooden barrels, where it also spends 12 months of maturation.

It is presented in a ruby red robe, with numerous garnet reflections. The perfume is reminiscent of wild strawberries and wild cherries, roses and wet earth. On the palate it strikes the delicate and gentle balance, where freshness is present but not invasive, as well as tannin. Good softness and good body shape the sip, immediately recalling another.

To be combined with a lasagna with cheeses.
