Venezia Giulia IGT Picotis 2011 Livon
Description
Schioppettino Picotis represents one of the Gran Cru of the Friulian company Livon. This wine comes from the vines grown in the clay soils of the Picotis vineyard, located in the municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone.
It is produced entirely with Schioppettino grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. After a soft destemming, the must ferments for about 18 days on the skins at a controlled temperature of 16 ° C. The evolutionary phase of the wine follows, which takes place in barriques and lasts about 13 months. Once the evolutionary process is over, the product is bottled and refined for a long period in glass.
Schioppettino Picotis has a ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose offers a balanced and pleasant scent of berries, on all wild blackberries, blueberries and raspberries, in the mouth it shows a remarkable enveloping and pleasant tannins. The finish is persistent and tasteful.
Perfect in combination with meat sauce and game, it is excellent with grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses.
