Description

The Vermentino di Sardegna from the Olianas winery is obtained with Vermentino grapes harvested in the vineyards owned by Murvonis and Porruddu: the first, characterized by clay-loam soils, gives the wine freshness and elegance; the second, planted on dark brown soils with a loose texture and with a widespread presence of arenaceous marl, gives the wine complexity and structure.

20% of the grapes are harvested slightly in advance and fermented with maceration on the steel skins. This small mass is used as a "pied de cuve" to activate spontaneous fermentation, making the addition of selected yeasts unnecessary. The remaining part of the grapes, after destemming and soft pressing, is fermented in steel at 14 ° C-16 ° C. 70% of the aging in steel on its own yeasts and the remaining 30% in tonneaux.

Straw-yellow in color, it has intense notes of pink grapefruit and lemon with details of spices and bread crust. On the palate it is refreshing and quite round, with a finish of absolute pleasantness.

Perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with fish dishes, even very aromatic and medium-aged cheeses.
