Veronese IGT Merlot Sansonina 2014 Zenato
Description
Veronese Rosso Sansonina di Zenato was born in the homonymous town of Sansonina, in the municipality of Peschiera del Garda, in the province of Verona.
It is produced only with Merlot grapes, manually harvested in boxes. Fermentation takes place, with maceration in contact with the skins, in wooden vats at controlled temperature. After stopping in new French oak barrels with different toasting levels and reaching the desired refinement, only the wine from the best barriques is assembled in large oak barrels, where it remains for a further month before bottling.
Rosso Sansonina by Zenato has an intense and concentrated ruby red color. The nose opens with a large and intense bouquet, with hints of plum in jam, cherry and blueberry, enriched with notes of cocoa and toasted and with very slight balsamic and herbaceous hints on the finish. On the palate it is full-bodied and warm, with good roundness and aromatic persistence.
Perfect to accompany stewed meats, it is ideal in combination with steak or grilled beef fillet.
