Mallorca IGP The Artist 2021 Can Axartell

The Artist by Can Axartell is a limited edition red wine from Mallorca, made from an elegant blend of Callet, Merlot, and Syrah. It features a label painted by the famous artist Dionís Bennàssar, who hails from nearby Pollença. It presents a deep, bright ruby red color with dense legs that forecast structure and concentration.

The grapes are carefully vinified and the wine is aged for fourteen months in high-quality French oak barrels. This long aging period imparts the wine with an unmistakable aromatic complexity, enhanced by perfectly integrated sweet and spicy notes.

On the nose, it stands out for its pronounced and complex aromatic intensity, with hints of violet, ripe black fruits like blackberry and blackcurrant, Mediterranean underbrush touches, and spices like vanilla, chocolate, and coconut, all set on an elegant smoky background that reflects the wood's finesse. On the palate, it is a voluminous and structured wine, powerful yet balanced, with vigorous acidity, mature and velvety tannins, and a long and flavorful finish where notes of black fruit, spices, and Mediterranean herbs return.
