Description

QSS Rare Reserva is a red wine produced in Portugal in the Lisbon region, sourced from vineyards located in Arruda dos Vinhos, which are predominantly characterized by hilly slopes. The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate with a strong Atlantic influence, which allows for balanced grape ripening while preserving freshness and elegance. The clay-limestone soils contribute to the structure and complexity of the wine. It is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet, varieties that together express aromatic intensity and depth.

Vinification takes place in open stainless steel tanks, followed by about three weeks of post-fermentation maceration to encourage the extraction of color, tannins, and aromas. Afterwards, the wine matures partially for about twelve months in French oak barrels, a process that helps to enrich the aromatic profile and provide greater balance and complexity.

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet color. The bouquet is expressive and complex, with black fruit notes accompanied by spicy hints of black pepper and nuances reminiscent of truffle, perfectly integrated with toasty wood notes. On the palate, it is concentrated, fresh, and elegant, with a harmonious structure and good persistence.

It pairs particularly well with slow-cooked meats, flavorful fish, and aged cheeses.
