Description
What kind of wine is it?
Ereso by Can Rich is an organic white wine made from Malvasia grapes grown in Ibiza. This wine presents an elegant and savory style, with a defined structure and smoothness balanced by the varietal freshness. Careful vinification and brief aging in used French oak barrels allow for a crisp and persistent finish, and the wine also offers good potential for bottle aging.
Where does it come from?
The Ereso grapes come from the Buscastell estate, inland from Ibiza. The Mediterranean climate and well-draining limestone soils favor regular ripening and a saline flavor profile. Constant natural ventilation preserves the health of the grapes, a crucial element for a Malvasia white wine focused on balance and aromatic precision.
How it is produced
The Malvasia is harvested at the perfect level of ripeness and immediately pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to enhance its aromatic profile. After fermentation, the wine ages for three months in used French oak barrels, without allowing the woody notes to dominate, thus providing roundness and micro-oxygenation. The profile remains fragrant with a dry finish, and the varietal's expression appears clean and consistent.
Tasting notes
Ereso is straw yellow in color with golden highlights. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of chamomile , dried fennel, apricot, peach, and baked apple, with light toasted notes. On the palate, it is full and slightly unctuous, with a savory finish that lengthens the sip. The finish is long, with fruity and spicy aftertaste, and the balance suggests a positive evolution over time.
What does it pair with?
This wine pairs well with baked fish dishes , where the savory flavors support the succulence and the toasted notes complement the cooking. It's also ideal with white meats and rich first courses, such as pasta with creamy sauces or Mediterranean vegetables. In local cuisine, it enhances dishes like bullit de peix, while in Spanish cuisine, its body and clean finish make it a perfect match for seafood paella .
When to serve it
Ereso is suitable both as a gourmet aperitif and as part of a full meal, when you want structure without sacrificing freshness. It is recommended to serve it at 10–12°C in a medium-sized glass to enhance the herbaceous and fruity aromas and the oaky notes. With a few minutes of oxygenation, the chamomile notes and toasted notes emerge more fully. This wine is best enjoyed young for its fragrance and also shows good potential for aging.
