Description
The Chardonnay Avni is a white wine produced by Lingua Franca in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, from grapes grown on shallow volcanic soils and in sites characterized by marine sediments, including vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills, Chehalem Mountains, Yamhill-Carlton, and the Van Duzer Corridor. The production philosophy favors freshness, tension, and complexity, influenced by sustainable farming techniques and exposure to the eastern slopes of the region.
The must is obtained from whole cluster pressing, decanted for 24 hours, spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels, and aged on the lees for 11 months. After blending, the wine rests for an additional six months in tank with fine lees before bottling.
On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of minerals, white flowers, citrus, and spices. On the palate, it is vibrant, round, and well-balanced, with a natural freshness enriched by notes of green apple, lemon peel, pear, quince, and river stone, leading to a clean and harmonious finish.
Ideal with fish dishes, shellfish, or delicately seasoned white meats.
