calvados

Calvados is a fruit cider brandy, traditionally made from apples or pears, produced in the Calvados department in the heart of Normandy, France. Aged through a complex refinement process in tonneaux, barriques, and large oak casks, Calvados bottles often bear labels indicating their ageing period: Trois Étoiles, Vieux, VO/VSOP, XO, Extra, and Hors d'Age, ranging from a minimum of two years to six years. With its intense and refined apple aromas, Calvados pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, especially those enhanced with sweet spices like cinnamon and vanilla.
