Collet
Champagne Collet was founded in 1921, when a group of winegrowers who had until then supplied the great négoce maisons decided to produce their own Champagne together. The group’s spokesman was Raoul Collet, who gave his name to the Maison: the first maison of independent winegrowers, whose legacy has been carried forward by five generations.
Even today it is the winegrowers who own the brand: they cultivate the vineyards, while the Maison’s teams take care of vinification, blending and ageing. The heart of the house is in Aÿ, home to the historic Villa Collet, where the cellars are hewn into chalk beneath the coteaux, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The wealth of Collet lies in its terroirs: 170 villages out of the Champagne appellation’s 319, including 31 Premier Crus and all 17 Grands Crus. Each terroir is vinified separately, and the blends are born from around sixty trials, drawing on a reserve of more than ten vintages. The wines rest on the lees for 3 to 10 years.
The Maison’s style, encapsulated in the Esprit Couture philosophy, aims for balance, elegance and power. The signature cuvée is Art Déco Brut, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from Grands Crus such as Ambonnay, Mailly-Champagne and Verzenay, alongside Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Rosé, Millésime and Aÿ Grand Cru.
Certified Haute Valeur Environnementale and Viticulture Durable en Champagne, Champagne Collet brings together over a century of winegrowing history with a vision committed to biodiversity and to its terroir.
