Gabriella Bariselli
Gabriella Bariselli is a family-run winery in Erbusco, in the province of Brescia, in the heart of Franciacorta. Its roots go back to great-grandfather Carlo, who kept a small cellar in Erbusco for the family's own wine, but the estate’s story begins in 1972, when grandparents Mario and Maria chose the morainic hills to build a cellar dedicated to their daughter Gabriella.
Since 2004, leadership has passed to Gabriella’s children, Andrea, Alessio and Alessandro, now also joined by the new generation: Andrea Salvoni oversees the cellar, winemaking and commercial relations; Alessio and his son Mattia look after the work in the vineyard; while Alessandro, with a degree in agronomy, handles the final stages of production and communication. In 2005, Franciacorta Brut DOCG was born, the wine the estate regards as its starting point.
The vineyards cover about 10 hectares across five municipalities of Franciacorta, on morainic hills near Lake Iseo, which provides a distinctive microclimate. Chardonnay and Pinot Nero are the leading varieties, and each individual parcel is vinified separately to preserve its character.
The winery, partly underground and later expanded with a climate-controlled facility, handles every stage in-house, from vinification to packaging. The Franciacorta wines rest for at least 18 months on the lees before riddling and a further 3 months after disgorgement. The range includes Franciacorta Brut, Rosé, Satèn and Dosaggio Zero DOCG, the latter from Chardonnay in the oldest vineyard, together with Curtefranca DOC Rosso 'Cumparì' and Bianco 'Marì', dedicated to the grandparents.
Passion for the land, family tradition and a commitment to sustainability have guided Gabriella Bariselli since 1972, a Franciacorta estate where expertise and care are passed down from generation to generation.
