Pier Paolo Grasso
Pier Paolo Grasso is the winegrowing estate founded in 2000 by the eponymous winegrower in the heart of the Langhe, in Piedmont. Its story began in Treiso, the family’s place of origin, and continues today in Neive, a few kilometers away and a stone’s throw from Alba, where the new winery is based.
At Pier Paolo’s side is his wife Sara Morra, who from a young age has cultivated a special respect and great care for plants and animals. Together, in 2022 they created a new brand, with the ambition to raise quality, create new wines, and look to a market that goes beyond the borders of the Langhe. Pier Paolo calls himself a 'warrior winegrower': every vintage is an unknown, every harvest an adventure to be faced with commitment.
The company’s philosophy is encapsulated in a word that appears on the labels, VINNOVIAMO: to innovate with love, in respect of the land and the ecosystem, embracing the legacy of the Langhe winegrowers. The Neive winery gives concrete expression to this philosophy, with materials chosen for low environmental impact, Corten steel walls, warm wood, and large windows that connect with the landscape of the hills.
The range is structured into three lines. The Classics, aged in stainless steel, include Langhe Arneis DOC, Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Barbera d'Alba DOC, and Langhe Nebbiolo DOC. The Selection, aged in oak barrels, features Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC, Barbaresco DOCG, Barbaresco Riserva, and Barolo DOCG. At the pinnacle are the Barbaresco DOCG Crus: Cà Grossa, Tre Stelle, Pajorè, and Rio Sordo, the latter also available as a Riserva.
Between vineyard, cellar, and guided tastings, Pier Paolo Grasso tells the story of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Arneis with a contemporary outlook, offering an authentic experience of the Barbaresco area and the Langhe.
