Còlpetrone
One of the most important wineries in the Montefalco area, the Còlpetrone winery is recognised mainly for its interpretations of the Sagrantino grape variety, an ancient variety from which full, powerful, long-lived and elegant wines, which are also rich in tannins and polyphenols, spring forth. The rather difficult character of the grape variety therefore requires very careful processing, which can yield wines with a unique taste profile.
Còlpetrone produces Sagrantino in a variety of versions, from the red Montefalco, where it is blended with Sangiovese and Merlot, to the Montefalco Sagrantino (91 pts. Falstaff) and "Sacer" (92 pts. Suckling), which represents the result of studies carried out by the company to express the full potential of the Umbrian grape variety. There is also the white Grechetto (92 pts. Maroni), born from the hillsides of Perugia. These are all wines that won us over for the originality with which Sagrantino is interpreted, and which we recommend you taste as soon as possible!
