Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a grape variety of Bordeaux origin that has spread over the world over time for its inimitable properties and taste.
A black grape variety that gives life to wines with a deep color, rich in tannins and enveloping aromas. Typical of this variety are hints of black berried fruit, forest fruit, black cherry and black currant, often accompanied by herbaceous notes. Wooden barrels are often used for the aging process of premium wines produced from these grapes, softening the astringency sensation of tannins and releasing typical oak aromas (vanilla, coffee, roasting, cedar). This wine is a symbol of quality, elegance and sumptuousness, a wine capable of defying the years for its excellent ability to maintain itself over time.

Cabernet Sauvignon needs a moderately warm climate to mature at its best, which is also why Bordeaux lends itself well to being its home in particular in the areas of Médoc and Graves-Saint-Amant. Another homeland of this grape variety is Tuscany and in particular that area where the Supertuscan was born at the end of the 60s, first of all the famous Sassicaia , that is in the Bolgheri territory.
Other areas that have proved particularly suited to the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon are found in California where, in Napa Valley famous cru such as Rutherford and Oakvalley and in Sonoma the Alexander Valley, the Cabernet Sauvignon boast prestigious refinement. Suitable areas are scattered all over the world where climatic conditions allow their complex cultivation as in Australia, New Zealand, South America (especially in Chile and Argentina) and South Africa .
